On Tuesday, November 17, 5:30 – 6:30 NAMI Amador is honored to have renowned trainer, Margaret Blair, who will talk about service/therapy dogs and their benefits to people living with mental illness and other health challenges. Margaret is owner of Twin Cedar K-9. The November the meeting will be held in the Multi-Conference Room, Main Building, Sutter Amador Hospital near the cafeteria.
On Tuesday, December 8, 5:30 – 6:30 NAMI Amador will hold its annual holiday meeting and support groups, focused on how we make our best efforts to do well through the holidays, whether we are people living with mental illness, or family, friends or coworkers of individuals, living with mental illness. This meeting also will be held in the MultiConference Room, Main Building, Sutter Amador Hospital.
Following the meetings, for people who have family members with mental illness, NAMI conducts a free Family Support Group from 6:45 – 8PM. If attendees are individuals living with mental illness who wish to participate in a support group, NAMI also provides a Connection Support Group during the same timeframe.
NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the largest grassroots mental health organization in the US. Our NAMI Amador affiliate receives support from Amador County Behavioral Health through Mental Health Services Act funds.
