Many of you have met me over the last couple years while I have been teaching water classes, working the front desk, or more recently during this changing of the guard. I just wanted to let everyone know that we have a lot of new plans and ideas in the works to help make New York Fitness the best gym in the area. Over the next few months you will probably notice new equipment, new classes, and a new vibe in the gym. If you have any great ideas that you think will help improve our gym, let us know! While we won't be able to do everything, we still want to know your thoughts.
I am really looking forward to serving you as the "Fitness Manager" and hope to meet and get to know everyone!

Searching for New Certified Instructors
HELP WANTED: WATER FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
NYF has an immediate opening for a certified "water fitness instructor" to teach weekly classes or to substitute classes.
Applicants should have knowledge of general population group techniques, including: shallow water aerobics, shallow water walking, and deep water aerobics.
Mornings preferred, evenings acceptable. Must have current certification in teaching some form of water fitness classes and a current CPR/AED certification.

Strength Structures (Weight Training)
Have you ever wanted to learn how to properly use and train with weights? Have you ever wondered how much weight you should be using? and what's a "rep" anyway?
Well we have the answers to all of these questions, and they will be taught to you in our latest class! Introducing "Strength Structures" a new weight training class designed for all fitness and experience levels, yet a great place for beginners.
Learn to build off of what you know or where to start from when you have no or minimal experience with strength training. We will cover proper form and usage of all the strength training machines (upstairs) and how to choose the proper weights, repetitions, sets, and rest periods. Those who show up on a consistent basis will also be trained on how to build and structure different styles of full workouts and eventually receive worksheets.
Monday's 5:30 to 6:30pm
Class meets outside of upstairs locker rooms at start time, and will be taught by NASM C.P.F.T. Jarrod Landreth.
This class employs the coordination of breath and muscular action for a full body workout. Classes will focus on alignment, balance, and core strength with breath as the activating guide. Healthy breathing promotes an open body and a flexible mind.
Tuesday and Thursday-
5:30 to 6:30pm
