Sutter Amador Hospital Hosts Infusion Center Celebration

JACKSON, CA – For patients with cancer, care is now one step closer with continued construction on the new Sutter Amador Hospital Infusion Center.

The hospital gathered donors, foundation members, and members of the project team to celebrate construction of the future home of the hospital’s new Infusion Center that is expected to open in late 2017.

The 2,500-square-foot infusion therapy center will have 10 infusion therapy chairs and will be located in the Sutter Amador Outpatient Services Center at 100 Mission Blvd., adjacent to Sutter Amador Hospital. The suite will offer private, semiprivate and social rooms based directly on feedback received from patients.

“This center will improve the patient and family experience and provide a greater continuum of care for patients,” said Anne Platt, CEO of Sutter Amador Hospital. “It allows our patients to access individualized care close to home.”

The Spinty Foundation, an Amador County philanthropic organization, has donated $700,000 along with nearly $200,000 in community donations toward the building of an approximately $2 million Infusion Center. The Sutter Amador Hospital Foundation’s current matching grant with Sutter Health is raising the additional funding needed for this project for a total contribution of eventually $850,000.

“We are so grateful for the generous donation from the Spinty Foundation and the continued support from the community and foundation to provide this valuable addition to the hospital,” said Jody Boetzer, senior development officer at Sutter Amador Hospital. “We look forward to inviting the community to a grand opening once the center is complete later this year.”

Despite a short construction delay, the hospital is excited to continue working to create the infusion center that will allow cancer patients to receive specialized care near home.
