The National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest organization for individuals living with mental illness and their families, sponsors a peer recovery support group called Connection in various parts of the US. We are proud to announce that the group has come to the Gold Country - Amador and Calaveras Counties. Two groups are meeting weekly, led by trained individuals who are also in recovery.
Very few small counties have the opportunity for members of their local NAMI affiliate to be trained by NAMI California to lead this support group. It is free, flexible, and in a casual setting. No registration, enrollment or obligation to attend weekly is required.
For more information, days and times, contact Teresa Painter 296-7868 to Gail Nellis 772-3413.
Amador group meets Thursdays, 6:30 - 8:00PM at Sutter Amador Hospital Multi-Conference Room. Contact Teresa Painter 296-7868.
